Berlin Open Ran Working Week (BOWW) 09.09.- 10.09.25
The combined power of the Berlin Open RAN Working Week (BOWW) and the i14y Lab Summit returned this year. From September 9th to 11th, 2025, attendees came together for three full days of Open RAN discussions, talks, panels, and networking in one place at the Science Tech Space at Lanolinfabrik.
The BOWW (Berlin Open RAN Working Week) continued to be dedicated to studying the fundamental questions of disaggregated networks in the well-proven interplay of academia and practitioners. This year’s sessions took their cue from the latest trends and cutting-edge science in the fields of AI, its management, and its applications:
Network Digital Twin Network AI Network Automation & Self-Organization Network Resource Efficiency & the Innovation Cycle Conundrum
Across four dedicated sessions, we focused on the core principles of designing Network Digital Twins and identifying the specific operator challenges they are intended to solve. We delved into AI-driven approaches to network automation and analyzed the unique security challenges posed by agentic AI. Finally, we explored effective strategies for translating academic research into practical, real-world applications in industry.
With presentations from Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute Berlin, TU Dresden, RWTH Aachen, Trinity College Dublin, Virginia Tech, Rimedo Labs, Ben Gurion University of the Negev, TU Vienna, Hasso-Plattner-Institute, Deutsche Telekom, and many others.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in Berlin where we’re turning theory into implementation!
